In answer to your question, i measured the old rocker panel in what i thought was the best location and made a template for my son in law to make up a new pair for me. i then trimmed them down to final lengths and bent up the lips.

Ok thank you! My brothers break is only 4' but I know another guy who has a larger one. My rockers need replaced, I had welded patches in them and there full of bondo from large dents. Just not happy with them! I think I'm going to dive in and replace them to !

Hey Nick! You could measure up those rockers and sell the "Drafting's" I think most would feel easier about walking into a sheet metal shop and ordering a custom set with proven drawings. I know I would pay you for the dimensions of the kick out(?) shape at the rear with that other piece you have already supplied me. Those look pretty nice and being made of more substantial mat'l is a BIG PLUS! Harry

Hi Harry,
The measurements that i took for my rockers were tweaked by my son-in-law for the material he used to make them. I did keep the template, i think, but it really doesn't do a lot of good as he changed the numbers with thicker material he used :| .

Hi. I managed to clean up the rear end a bit and sprayed it with some rust converter for temporary protection. I'll have to re-bend the brake lines to make them look nicer. For now, i need to install the rear end so i can get the car rolling.

Wow! I just read the whole thread. You definitely had a very crusty car to start with and you've given me hope on my project! You could see your skills improve over the course of the build too. Fantastic job!!

Hi RedFiveKBS, Thanks for the words. It has been a learning experience and fun for sure. I've enjoyed it so far. In a couple days it will actually be a roller again. The panhard bar is made and to be installed. Then I can put it back on the ground because I'm going to eventually move this summer.

I am literally about to begin this long, drawn-out process of welding in patch, after patch, after patch on my car as well. This thread has given me inspiration that it can be done, and for that I say THANK YOU! I just picked up a welder.... am just waiting on my body to get blasted first to clean up all the surfaces, and then as you say "...And now the fun begins!"
