I really like the rendering I think he did a good job on the hood, the question will be how it would look done for real now.

I am unsure about the proportions of the hood scoops on the Astre but if they are a little big and ostentatious that may be ok.

I am hoping to get another rendering with it done in more of a Trans Am motif, if so I will post it up.

You know I'm all about the early Formula hood...... If you do a pin-on hood, the snorkels could stick out further, like the originals.

Getting the trademark Pontiac twin grille ... deep.... like the early grilles would set if off real nice.

My dream car has always been a V8 Astre done up with a shaker hood, side vents, Cosworth dash, and a proportionately sized Screaming Chicken on the hood. Custom plate was to read "MINI TA". Can't wait to see what your final build looks like.

I would choose the T/A motif, very sharp looking.

What would be a good look for the Mini T/A would be if you could graft on the front half of the front end of a Sunbird. Get the square headlights and that classic Pontiac split grill.

The choice is easy. The prettiest twin sister is the one that puts out.

Ditto......
I've owned a few 2nd gen Trans Ams and the shaker hood is awesome looking. It's simply awesome. Functional ones ROCK!
Having never owned a 2nd gen Formula, the allure of the early long snorkels beckons me.

The side vents and the shaker might nose out the Formula theme, though. Wonder if some wheel spats could be made to fit?

I like Dwight's suggestion about the wheel spats; because of the shape of the wheelwells, the ones from a Z/28 might actually fit better than ones from a T/A. The Camaro and Astre wheel openings are similarly shaped(elongated with a flat lip), but the Firebird had round openings with almost no lip.

Awsome renderings.
I have to say, I like the shaker over the formula.
I have put shaker hoods on a lot of my toys, Buicks, Chevys, etc.
Nothing like driving them and looking out over the hood at that scoop shake n around.
Gonna be cool , either way
