v8 vega build

well i did some work on the 77 kammback this weekend and failed went to put the motor in and found out the motor still wont fit i miss calculated the amount of firewall i needed to cut out by about 3 inches next week will be better

the valve covers and the bell housing hit the fire wall still

You are doing something wrong. People have been putting v8's in Vega's for years without ever cutting into the firewall . Post some pics of your issue please.

Yeah, a SBC is pretty much a bolt in affair into a Vega or other H body. The chassis is pretty much the same as a Monza which came with a V8. Certainly should not involve cutting the firewall unless you are going for some major engine setback.

im using stock motor mounts and for them to line up i thought it would be nessary to cut the firewall i have seen it done but can not find how
