Still working on the mold. Hope to have a few made next year. Sides of the mold need rework right now to be mounted even. Im not happy with the results to sell any yet. Hope to get back to working on this in a few months or so.

Doug,
Keep up the good work! When you are happy with the results, I'm sure you will get orders from others besides my commitment to you as you already know :th: We will stay in touch.
To everyone else, Doug is the guy that can help with a replacement tail panel for our Hatchbacks wishing to replace it in fiberglass.

Does anyone know where to get the rear cover piece around the headlights for a 79 sunbird?

just decided to re-start work on the Sunbird. We placed 3rd overall at the Grassroots Motorsports $2014 Challenge last year. They did a 7 page feature on the car.

Ok. Yes I'm still perfecting it better. I'm working on the first fiberglass part that come out of the mold. That part was made from the mold and the mold was made from a part that was not bolted to the car. The part I made the mold from was too brittle to bolt too the car so the part is a little off on the ends. Once I fit this part I can rework the ends of the mold or make new mold ends. This way nobody has to do a butt load of work to put this on their car.

I feel there is no need to add pigment /paint into the resin and make the part cost more. Most people just are going to sand/primer/block sand/ paint an clear coat it. I'm trying to keep the cost of material low. Most automotive paint supply companies have a digital scanner and they can scan a 30 old paint job and make you a pint/quart that will be very close for you to paint this part without having to paint the rest of your car. I did a 70 nova fender this way and it was spot on.

it's in the August 2015 issue of Grassroots on pages 68 thru 74. There is also a small picture of the Sunbird in the upper right of the cover.
