They don't usually come with a new strainer, order separate.

Thx,

i found this one :
http://fme-cat.com/overlays/part-detail ... artType=In Tank Pump & Strainer Set&brandId=CF

with strainer, but no price .
Tomorrow i look further and also for a dealer in Belgium or Netherland, i think its cheaper .

All the Monza's with this engine have the same fuelpump :
3.2L (C) : 1978-1979
3.8L (A) : 1978, 1979 and 1980
4.3L (G) : 1975-1976
5.0L (U) : 1977-1978
5.0L (G) : 1979
5.7L (H) : 1975

Or go and have a look at the guy in Belgium who is selling that Monza for parts.
Hes near Antwerpen if i recall correct, maybe he has a working second hand one.

Definately cheaper then buying a new one and having it shipped.

Here in Belgium no original fuelpump .
So i take a new pump, but not in the tank anymore, a PIERBURG 7.21440.53.0

http://www.onderdelenshop24.com/965134-pierburg

Image

Good price, good manual .
I change my wiring and disconnect the + from the old pump and connect it to the new pump .
I also fix a - to the new pump .

Image

I remove the old pump and put a filter .
The fuelline comes from the tank to the filter, to the new pump and than the old metal fuel line .
The pump works fine, there comes fuel on the carburator but thats it .
The fuel filter stays dry .
It was already late and dark, so tomorrow i check the fuelfilter, Perhaps i install it backwards .

Or the fuel pressure provided by the new pump is too high. The carb will probably only take 4 -5 psi. You may need a fuel pressure regulator to get it down to that.

The link he provided says 2.18 psi, I think. Carb hasn't had gas in a while, maybe the gaskets dried out, shrunk and cracked. Couldn't hurt to check tho if you have a gauge.

I have no documentation of the pump .
But when i accelerate, the fuel comes almost out of the top of the carburator .

So it is possible the pressure is to high .

I just chech the 1980 Chevrolet Monza Restorer Manual,

Pressure range 3.8 V6 = 4.25 - 5.75

Now i tried to find out what the pressure range of my pump is .
