My first monza,1975 monza project.

Postby tnwheelgunner » Sun Mar 22, 2015 7:16 pm

Hello everybody,im new to the forum and new to monzas. My father gave me this 1975 monza. It looks rough but its actually rust free and 100% solid. It supposedly was a v8 car originally and had a 307 chevy in it when i got it. I have a fresh th350 and im putting together a 4bolt main 350 for it with kb 9.5.1 pistons,041 heads 2.02 1.92 valves, edelbrock performer cam kit and rpm airgap intake,650 holley etc. Currently building 2.5 duals with an x pipe and jones flowpacks. Still has the stock 7.5 rear end and 13 inch slots. Being new to monzas im unsure of the weight and all that. Anyone have an idea of what kind of performance to expect? I decided to use the stock manifolds for ease of plug changes and lack of leaks.Im coming from mopars to easier and cheaper chevys. Any suggestions or advice on other modifications and upgrades? Thanks

Welcome to the H body world. There will be many challenges ahead but when you are done you will have something unique. I also have a 75 Monza that I have had since it was brand new. One thing to be aware of is the limited hood clearance, you may have a hood clearance issue with that air gap manifold.
