Thanks for the info! Im running the Viking coilover set up like that in my 69 Camaro. It has that hybrid type spring that fits into the factory spring pocket. Im running the 350 rates on my Camaro with a aluminum headed BBC. I think I would try the 250 rates possibly on the Vega with the lighter nose and lighter motor.

Theres a couple people who have 250lb springs and thought they were too soft so the sweet spot may be 350lb springs the 450lb are pretty stiff.

I am not drag racing the car so my setup is for a different application.

Have had the car on jackstands for the last few weeks trying to get the car ready to participate in an autocross May 1st.

I made a long list that was really even longer that I am working on.

First priority was getting some the brakes working decent. That has been the achiles heel with the car since I re-purchased it.
One of the first pages had a picture of what the front brake pads looked like when I first checked them (no pad material left ).

One I had installed the S10 Blazer brakes in the front and rear I was still not very happy with pedal feel pretty sure it had air
in the line still, but the brake hoses and lines were all old and crusty so I decided to replace all the rubber lines with braided
stainless lines so that's what I have been doing. While at it I replaced all the brake lines going to the rear of the car and now
the pedal is really firm and I can drive the car with more confidence in being able to slow it down safely, before it was kind of
scary darting all over the place when the brakes were pressed hard.

I also installed the a front sway bar purchased from a fellow member here and installed the S10 Blazer rear sway bar as well.

I also made new upper and lower rear control arms to replace the ones I had made for "mock up" purposes.

I also installed new rear view mirrors purchased from that same fellow member with the sway bar. Thanks Again for the parts!

and now pictures. The bottom picture is of the brake line kit from Summit Racing I used.

Hey your welcome Harry, you don't have to buy them, rubber is cheaper. I am glad you found the info useful, I read some posts about what hoses to buy.

If you check the application these are for a later model Chevrolet 1500 truck. I read some guys on the S10 forums were using this so I bought it. The fittings for the are standard not metric
so I believe that's why this application works.

I still cant lock up my tires yet but the pedal feel is great. I made need a different master cylinder to get the braking performance where I would like it.

Thanks your dads vega looks really nice too with the new wheels, did you guys remove the TPI motor from that?

As far as autocross goes, it's just for fun so I am looking forward to it but the factory G80 posi unit in
this axle is not going to cut it. Not getting both wheels to pull consistently so going to have to tear into
that and put a Torsen in so I can get traction when one of the tires is unloaded in a corner.

Yeah had the TPI motor in it when he bought it. Drove great but just not really fast enough after riding in my car lol!

What length were the front brake lines in that kit? I ended buying 12" Russel lines for mine, seem to fit well with no binding.

I am not sure, I didn't measure them, but they are plenty long. The reason I purchased that kit was because it had 5 hoses in
it and that's what I wanted, that 5th hose that goes on the rear axle.

Haven't checked this thread for quite some time, loads of work!

The rear axle change, positioned the wheels perfectly! The front wheel not being centered is a conundrum. Why is that? All of them are that way and it just isn't as noticeable with 13" wheels?

Would like to see more pics of underhood and interior. Excellent work, car looks fantastic!

Dyno results??

Hey Zeke, yes I have been busy, this is the car I was interested in the wiper module for.

The rear axle swap has worked out great except these G80 posi units are crap, when I first installed it was pulling both
tires but now, rarely. I scored a Zexel Torsen from a 4th gen Camaro that will be installed this weekend.

The front suspension on these cars is not good from the factory and add 40 years of no telling what kinds of abuse and
no surprise they are "off" from where they need to be. I have a guy says he can fix it for me and do a front end alignment
so I will be taking it there first. If that doesn't work I will have to put some adjustable upper and lower control arms to
correct this.

I need to clean it all up and take some pictures when I do I will take more of the engine and interior.

Thanks Zeke nothing near what your ride is looking like but its a driver so I am happy.
