Ok, time for a small update. I was going to use the "dirty" alternator, so I took it to work to check it and clean it up. I checked it, and it was working perfect. but the amperage was not very high. I checked what the alternator was rated for, and it was only a 37 amp alternator. Too small for what I will be running. I calculated I would need about 45 to 50 amps, so I checked through my garage, until I found one rated at 61. The only problem with that one, it was locked up. I took it to work, and took it apart, checked the windings, diode trio, etc. Good news, only needs brushes, and bearings. I cleaned everything up, coated the housings, fan, and pulley, put the new bearings in, and assembled it. Checked it on the test stand, and it works perfect. When I got home, I stuck it on the engine. Nothing fancy, just keeping myself busy. Brad
