Tom cant wait to see that setup installed in the car. price sounds very reasonable, especially delivered. think the guy TJ in Pa is thre same guy who did mt 9 inch centersection. i could never get back in touch with him after a few years. he was in southern Pa near the Delaware border(i think) do you have a current phone number for him.? an e-mail address? i got the good true-Trac center section from him, and i wanted to ask him exactly what kind of rear end grease to use, and if i should put any addatives in with the grease. do you know the answer to that question. thanks art

Thanks
Very nice guys over at Checkered racing, price was right also.
Working on the front suspension today and tomorrow, hoping to get the coil springs in and the shocks mounted.
I will post pictures of the s10 upgrade, with the sleeves welded in for the lower ball joints.

He does good work. I got the aluminum center section, with a Detroit locker posi and 430 gears.
10 bolt front support, and billet yoke.

Here is his number off the shipping label, I just received the center section 2 weeks ago.
So this should be current 610-485-4858

Front springs and s10 upper and lower ball joints and rotors installed. This took me all day to do, welded the lower sleeves in and did the work on the uppers. Trial fitted a wheel on to see how the turning radius would be.

Looking good, did you get any pics of the front lower control arm sleeve mod?

Also, it's nice to see large, hi quality pics! :th:

Chris
I looked for them but could not find them, I will post them if I do.
I did weld the sleeves in the LCA, and use the s10 ball joints.

The Autoweld 12pt chromoly roll cage showed up today, very nice stuff. Cut and fitted the main hoop and seat brace today.
Tomorrow I will do the back struts to the rear of the frame rails. Going to get it all fitted, before I cut the wheel wells for the tubs.
It will be hard to do the wheel wells when the cage is welded in.

Thanks Byron

Held off on the roll cage till I get the wheel wells stretched out.
Did the first one yesterday, have everything lined up ready to tack weld it.
Made the center piece fits good. Now have room for the 31x16.5 tires.

Here are some pictures of the progress I made over the last 1 1/2 months. It is coming along slow, but I work on it every chance I get. Added some extra support bars on the back of the main hoop, these are angled, to support the torque load from door bars.
I thought about doing the X bar off the main hoop, but went this route for more strength. All tubing is 1 5/8 by .083 wall chromoly, notched most of it by hand with a grinder. I bought a Lincoln square wave tig 200 welder, just to do the cage and wheel tubs.
I hand made the wheel tubs myself out of 20g sheet metal, and tig welded them with silicon bronze 1/16 filler rod. The chromoly roll cage I am using ER80S-D2 filler rod, welds real nice.
