The internal relays can be damaged from improper wiring or components(shorted out trans brake solenoids are common). I scored the nearly new damaged Mega 450 I use in my drag car as a straight swap for my ancient Dedenbear RTD-7. Trans brake output was fried, but they have an extra relay on board designated SFO(selectable function output) that can be configured as trans brake. Someday I will take it apart and solder in a new $5 relay to make it fully operational again.

Good to know. Ill check it with a multimeter monday. I was going to buy a 450 then I saw this one on ebay after I already bought an old dedenbar. Can you setthe sfo to engage a half second after the transbrake? Like if I wanted to set the sfo to contol the nitrous so it would delay it a half second after the brake releases to give the tire some time to recover.

400 is a little different from the 450; I will let you decrypt the instructions-
http://www.racedigitaldelay.com/pdfs/in ... 300400.pdf
There are so many ways to configure the outputs, I'm sure you will find something that works. With these boxes, your imagination is the only thing that limits what you can make them do.
My old RTD-7 served me well for 4 seasons, but it was a "one trick pony"; Now I have the Mega450 control everything- trans brake, throttle stop, shift RPM, plus it does RPM logging. Once I get around to replacing the one bad relay, I will also have starting line control(activates the throttle stop while the trans brake is on). But NHRA doesn't allow a tach input to a delay box in Super Gas, so I lose the shift and data log when I go to a Divisional event. Apparently, there is a way to modify a delay box to act as a traction control(by limiting throttle opening), which is not allowed.

From what I understand the two are very similar. Main reason I went with the mega box was for the shift control. Ive read the instructions thoroughly but still am not sure if I can use one of the throttle stop channels to delay nitrous or maybe the other output youre talking about on a slightly longer delay. The 400 also rpm logs. From what I understand the main difference from 400 to 450 was backlit keys and a few creature comforts.

Beyond stoked. Lol. Nicest rear end I've ever owned. Been busy at work so cant wait to bolt it all together. Not going to paint it until I get it mounted. Wrinkle black. Debating on whether to mount calipers on front or back of axle.
