Well Bulldawg, the vin (believe it or not) will
not tell you if it was a Spyder or not. Only the
build sheet w/ the option codes on it. Spyders were
either the option code Z01 or Z02. (Z01 performance
handling package w/ Spyder "emblems", but no decals; and
Z02 being everything in Z01 "plus" decals - called
the "Spyder appearance package)

Your vin tells
me this:
1=Chevy
R= Sport Model..(square
headlight version as opposed to round
headlight)
07=hatchback
G= assembly plant......G=made in
Canada
52=can't remember
131514= number assigned to the body
when it was a metal shell. 131,514th Monza made in
75.

If you want more info, give me your tag data (under
the hood on the cowl, and I can tell you lots
more)

Ken

As Ken said, the VIN won't tell you if it's a

Spyder or not. But here's how your VIN
breaks
down:

1 = Chevrolet
R07 = Monza 2+2 hatch
G = 262ci
Chevrolet V8 2bbl
5 = 1975 model year
2 = St Therese,
Quebec plant
131514 = production sequence

So
it's really a '75 V8, but not
a Spyder (someone may
have tried to
convert it after the Spyders came
out).

oops! Thanks for the few corrections on the VIN
breakdown... I was writing that off the top of my head and
mixed up some of it w/ the codes from the "body plate"
instead of the VIN. On the body plate, the letter tells
you the production locations, and in the VIN it tells
you the engine. ...and I used to work in Chevrelet
parts too!... well... I'm ashamed of myself!...
*smile*
