I'm putting together a 1978 spyder 01/02. 358c.i.
.202 ported X heads, .530/.530 lift .300/.300 dur.,
10.5:1 comp., 250h.p. fogger, team G intake, MSD, 373
12bolt, 10inch M.T. Street tires, ect. ect. ect., its a
present for all the mustang folks in the street class at
the track this spring, it's 90% complete. I'm no
stranger to hotrods but this is my first light street car
I've put together. I need a few tips here and there so
I thought some of you might be able to help, here
goes,
Anyone found a good way to hook in the torque
bar to a 12-bolt rear?
Anyone removed the motor
mounts without pulling the engine?
Where can I get
some solid motor mounts?
Any tips on reinforcing
the engine using the stock setup?
Found any
radical drag-type rear spoilers?
I'm pretty sure I
can get the support in the rear of the car tying into
the front with rails. I'd like to keep the torque bar
though but have to swap rearends. My biggest concern
looks to be the way those engine plates hook to the
motor mounts. I'm aware of the Hooker engine swap kit
but it is a mess on pumps, pully's, ect. I was kind
of wondering if any of you have found a way to come
off the driver's side frame rail and hook into the
engine without using hooker's kit. I'm not worried about
the passenger side pushing as much as I am concerned
with tearing out the drivers side especially since I'm
using sanderson headers which the steering arm runs
through. I don't need that motor mount coming apart 3/4
the way down the track.
Anyway I have some parts
on e-bay for sell and you can e-mail me for other
parts I may have. I parting out a 1980 monza for my
1978 project. If I can help anyone let me
know
Daniel
