Adding a 3rd Monza

Just thought I would toot my horn a little. I
just picked-up my '77 mirage in Vancover, WA that I
won on e-bay. It is fairly complete and the body is
in decent shape. It is in need of a restoration. The
rear spoiler is toast. All of the rivet holes are torn
out on the top side. It doesn't have a front airdam.
Two of the plastic strips on the top of the fender
panels are damaged. I'm going to have to inventory all
of the parts in the hatch that the previous owner
removed to see what else I'm going to need.

It
will join my '75 v8 2+2 and '77 spyder. Now I just
have to find the time and money to get all three back
in good shape. My wife wants the mirage for her
daily driver and I am working on the spyder for mine.
Lots of fun (and hard work) coming my way. Happy
h-bodying :)

Kent - Roseburg, OR

Adding a 3rd Monza

Kent, I know what you mean about facing a lot of
hard work. I also bought a Mirage off ebay back in
June. Luckily it was a 1-owner car and I drove it home
at 70mph for 300 miles. It has 94k orig miles, but
it has seen better days. The rear spoiler is just
the same as you described. The front spoiler was also
missing, but I've already bought a new one of those. Since
the interior has already been redone in
factory-correct material, my main goal is to make the mechanicals
and exterior look like new so as to take it to local
shows.
I'm in the process od dis-assembling the car in my
garage (what a mess). I'm cleaning and repainting as I
remove parts so as to not be too overwhelmed with a
whole pile of nasty unknown parts (grins).
I'm in no
rush to complete the project, I just want it to look
good when I'm done.
Best of luck on your
triplets!
Doyle
