John, on the other board a question came up
regarding the installation of an intake manifold off of a
4.1 on a '77 3.8, the reply was yes.
I'm not so
sure about that because the 4.1 uses the raised runner
head as is the '79 up 3.8.what do think? Ian

Ian,
Sorry I don't check this board as often
as I should. The 4.1 manifold will work on a pre
1980 3.8 engine. Agreed is isnt the optimal situation
but it will work and the fourbarrel will operate just
fine if thare are no other issues. I was using a
weiand manifold on a 76 Buick 3.8 oddfire. That
particular manifold is ported for the 1980 and above high
port heads and the car ran very well. I have
subsequently purchased a Kenne-Bell MK-1 manifold for the low
port heads but haven't had a chance to try it out. I
doubt that I will notice a difference.
