I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips
and feed back regarding swapping a 3.8L Buick V6 into
a 1972 Vega. I had planned on using a 1977 odd fire
short block [partly due since I have one and also to
use the Skyhawk oil pan] with the new big valve heads
like the 86-87 casting number 25518445 heads, an
Edelbrock intake manifold #5486, Edlebrock cam #5487, and
Holley carb #1850s I plan to use the T-50 5 speed trans.
Has anyone tried this swap? Do you have to rebalance
the engine when using an 1977 odd fire flywheel on an
1977 automatic engine?......Thanks....Barry

Barry
The swap it self is pretty much stight
forward as for putting the engine in using stock v6 motor
frame purches in place of the 4 cyl mount plated (you
have to remove the 4 cyl motor plates that are welded
to the body). As for the odddfire flywheel will work
only with a odfire motor not a evenfire ( it uses its
own flywheel which about 20lbs lighter and is also
steped). If you have any ?? I will be glad to help as Ive
done this type of swap many times with very good
results( you love the performance) Later Jon
