You're comparing a cosworth twin cam to a VW with a whole 40 BHP?

>Can a CV smoke up the rear
tires..<

I have Pirelli with a stamped date of 1983 with 90%
thread left on, I tried different rpm but under 4000 I
didn't get much wheel spin, but never saw smoke, I don't
have posi, and my tires are too hard.
I'll have to
see with the new advance and newer tires if I can
smoke them, so far I couldn't.

question

Well,
I could have been cheating..
About 3
or 4 days before the Houston roundup, I took the
1020 out for a spin. Now, take this under
consideration. I have just restored her to best of my ability...
but she had been set up for the twisties. West of at
that time home town, the county had repaved the farm
to market roads. Now, if you live rural, you know
the those big ol grain trucks carry some mass and do
not turn on a dime.
The road Engineers from Texas
A&M can sure design a 90 degree curve. If you can
imagine, a 1 or 2 mile, straight shot into a 90 degree, 30
degree banked corner.. and repeated for mile after
mile.
One I had warmed up the tires, planted a grin from
ear to ear.. and "learned" 1024's habits..
After a
relaxing cool down cruise back to town, i found myself
sitting at a stop light. Now, imagine a stopless, hot
black Cos, louvered hood and low squat from the
Yokohama A008 Rs. So, I could not help myself... A quick
stak at the gas pedal, a light touch of the binders,
and a dropping the clutch at 5 g..
Well, I admit
I do not have posi, but the sprinker runoff in the
road really got the tires going. Once they started
smoking, I figured "what the heck"..
HHHMMM... It's
been a while since I took 1020 off jackstands...
HHMM... I think I need to get her onto a chassis dyno..
and maybe to a roundup

And smoke some
tire..

Peace

Doug..

I've got to find myself a set of Yokohamas, not
listed in Canada anymore, all I can get in 205-60 is BFG
T/A's.

I have 275-40-17 Yokohama A520 on my Z28, and they
are like driving on water when cold, but man do they
stick when hot.

I wonder how tough it would be
to ship them accross the border?

Are they
still available in the A008 R 205-60-13?

General Motors followed (closely) by http://profiles.yahoo.com/CSWRTH1

Those four digit numbers are dash numbers. And more than those listed are owned.

I think last count was 28, you can see most of
them in a picture on my website on the main page at
the bottom in the background. The rest are in his
shop. No, they don't all run, but several could with
little work, as most are complete.

Happy
hunting,

Britt

I currently own 22 Cosworths Vegas. In the past,
I have sold 2 and parted out 2. 7 of them run and
start right up with 3 more that were running before
sitting for many years and just need to be brought back
to life. Chris.
