Remember to tap all the bolt holes back down into position same as
you would do with metal valve covers otherwise it won't matter if ou
tighten to correct torque or not

Tim, you and Jim are correct. The Hutton Unit was
Milidon. We used to use the Moroso parts to build pans
for circle burners and RR motors prior to all the
current cool stuff. The Moroso parts require a usable
pan for the motor that you plan to sump. Using the
pieces in the kit and some fab skills, you could and
can come pretty close to building a 7 qt. unit or
better yet, just purchase the one from the fellow on
one of the other e-mail. Jim

Hey doogiediamond:

I thought the last year for panel delivery was 1974?
As I remember, they only made about 550 of that model
altogether.

Brad,
I have footage of running through the race track, in Watkins Glen, from our
Vega.
I need to transfer it, and then I can send it to you. It may take time
coming thru the mail, of course. Will that be O.K.?

All the preceding is true. Usually , the longer the
distance from the inlet valve mating surface to the
lip of the inlet snorkle, the greater the mid to low
end torque, ie better on the street or short track.
The shorter the the tube, the greater the high end HP.
A classic example of an attempt to get the best of
both worlds would be mixed stack heights of late 60s &
early 70s CanAM Chevies.
The radiused port is just good engineering practice
for improving the flow of any fluid as it enters a
tube or hose. It reduces the initial turbulence as the
air is entering allowing a greater CFM of flow. You
will find the same inlet devices on FI, well designed
turbo chargers, and the inlets to any well designed
pump system. Jim

Dick, my understanding is that they are accepting any car
twenty-five years old and older this year. I saw no restrictions
on non-historic or inexpensive cars. Of course, I was hoping that at
least one owner of a fine quality Cosworth Vega would enter to give
the marque some exposure to the cream of collectors who may be there.
Go for it!
