first thing !! i'm p.o.ed because i just spent a half hour typing to
only have my letter not post and everything i typed is gone !!!! so
i'll try one more time. this past weekend while pulling parts off
#3361 i pulled off the seat backs and low and behold there was a
perfect build sheet (for the record the car was charged and shipped
to salisbury chevrolet in scotia n.y.) well it got me thinking about
3231 and how i thought i looked everywear for the build sheet and
could never find it. while i thought i've had the seat backs off it
i could'nt remember soooo today while putting parts from 3361 away i
figured i would have a go at it and removed the seat backs off 3231
and to my surprise there sat the build sheet for my car still in
great shape!! so here go my questions , in block 96 on 3361's theres
the code u69 which when you look below at the rpo codes shows an
am/fm radio,o.k. now on my build sheet for 3231 theres only three
dots and below theres no rpo code for a radio so does that mean it
was radio delete or when no rpo was selected did the car
automatically receive a am only radio? if it was radio delete would
ther have been a plastic block off plate? next thing is the car was
charged to jake sutherlin chevrolet in jacksonville beach fl. but
shipped to GMAD NORWOOD PLANT, NORWOOD OHIO, does it mean anything?
i noticed 3361 was charged and shipped to the same location. also in
block 122 (destination charges ) it shows 111 then next to it in
block 123 its hand written 75.40, does this represent additional
charges to block 122 ? thats enough brian racking for now so any
response would be helpful! one last thing awhile ago at
www.cosworthparts.com there use to be a real nice list of things for
sale, is that site no longer a suorce for parts ? or has it been
moved? thanks gary.....p.s sorry for the mis spells but tried to
rush it the 2nd time.

First, there is no such thing as "radio delete" on a Cosworth Vega
because a radio was NOT included with the RPO Z09 base equipment
package, so a Cosworth that was not ordered with a RPO radio package
is simply a "no radio" car.

Back in this era, aftermarket radio equipment was a better value than
factory radio equipment, and dealers ordered a lot of cars without
radios, preferring to install aftermarket equipment during vehicle
prep, which was more profitable. The figures are available in CVOA
sources, but I recall that fewer than half of CVs were ordered with
factory installed radio/tape equipment.

Cosworth Vegas were NEVER shipped using Vert-a-Pac, and it appears
that all were shipped to the Norwood plant and consolidated with
Camaros for shipment to dealers. The hand written dollar amount is
probably an internal bookeeping number for the cost of transshipment
to Norwood. All the CV build sheets that I have seen show shipping to
Norwood with a hand written dollar amount.
