thanks for the info duke, i have a few other questions, first if the
car came with no radio , would chevy put a block off plate or just
left the hole open ? the reason i ask is because my dash is perfect
except for the radio opening were the radio once was , whom ever cut
out the holes where the tuning and volume shafts would have came
thru ,and must have had put in an aftermarket radio, so if there is
or was a block off plate i think i would rather install it than put
in another after-market radio. also i know you said all of the cars
went to norwood (which my car did) but what about 3361 which shows
charge to and ship to address as the same? as far as the destination
charges both build sheets i have the numbers are typed in like the
rest of the sheet and only one has a hand written number beside
it.one last thing i noticed in a message about the 5 spd trans you
wrote that 1500 cosworth's came with the 5 spd , i show only 815
did , so do you mean in all vegas ? or all h-bodies ? that number
does'nt leave us with to much of a chance of finding replacements .
agian thanks for your help.gary p.s. there coming to take 3361 to
its final resting place tomarrow so i guess we should give it a
moment of silence....

Chris,

The car you have with the radio delete plate, does it have an antenna
molded into the windshield or is the windshield plain?

Fred

RPO U76 was a windshield antenna - cost $15 in '76, and about 95
percent of CVs had this option, which made radio installation easy.

I believe that a radio power harness was in the base wiring harness,
and maybe front speaker wiring.

The only CV I know of that doesn't have U76 is Craig Schmitz'
#2094, and his car has a fender mounted mast antenna. I know of
another original owner (sold the car long ago), who bought a CV
without U-76. The dealer drilled the fender for a mast antenna, and
he had them fill it back in and install a windshield with the built in
antenna.

This particular car, #3455, was wrecked in the mid-eighties, after my
friend sold it, and repaired, albeit, poorly. I recall looking at it
and driving it when it was for sale after being repaired. The chassis
was obviously bent and it drove very poorly. I doubt if this car is
still around, which is too bad. It had the best OEM paint job I had
ever seen on a CV.

I have the ECU from this car. It would occasionally go dead, and
after replacing virtually every EFI part they finally figured out that
there was a bad terminal crimp on the EFI power harness. I managed
recover the ECU from the dealer warranty scrap pile.

There likely would have been a block off plate from the factory, but
it would have been removed and likely thrown away by the radio
installer. This could probably be verified with the AIM if that sheet
is included. I have no idea where you could find one, today.

Don't understand your queston about the build sheet. It's tough to
get the point across without a picture or copy.

Regarding the T-50 installations I knew that the number was about half
of '76 production, but I was suffering a temporary case of brain fade.
I recall now that the number you quote was documented and published
in CVOA magazine.

Yes, there was a radio delete plate or radio block off plate for the
Cosworth. My first Cosworth had one installed on it when I bought
it. I have seen one other one. They made them but there are not
many of them around. I got the part # off the back of mine and ran
it but there weren't any around when I checked. Of all the Cosworths
I have owned, that was the only one that came with a plate. Chris
