Watch out for '76 carpets....

Be wary of any interior carpeting for a '76. Although many companies
claim to have the mold for such carpeting, I have yet to see one that
actually fits a '76. The rear floorpan differs from 75 to 76, and
also the '76 carpeting must go over the driveshaft tunnel between the
seats, whereas '75 carpeting is shorter, and does not.

We were going to put new carpet in to 3387, but it turned out that
the dark saddle carpeting was molded and cut to fit a '75.

On the back of the carpet underneath the read passenger seat bottom
(which just lifts out), you may be able to find an OEM carpet tag to
verify the color.

Hi Ken,

I have had the same problem. My solution was to order the 1976
Cosworth carpet as a 1980 Monza. Worked fine. Somehow, the
"cataloging" is messed up.

So, Mike, can you contact the carpet vendor and get
them to straighten out their catalog.
