Is it worth having or no? Good info in it relative to the cosworth
engine?

Yes. If you can find one in good condition for no more than $20
dollars. Above that I'd just recommend finding someone who has one
and copying the CV chapter.

The one you refer to is the second editon. Later additions have a few
minor changes including the valve timing specs for the short track
cams.

Chevy Power manual with the Gold Cosworth engine on it

They have some interesting information in there. Volumes 1-5 have
the info on the Cosworth Vega. The first volume has the Gold
Cosworth motor by itself and the second has a smaller shot of the
gold motor and 2 other motors on it. Some interesting stuff in
there. The only thing that I remember being questioned was that they
recommended using a 2 stage dry sump and using the stock oil pump for
a 3rd stage. I have heard that that was bad due to the stock pump
cavitating and it should have been a 3 stage dry sump with the inner
gears removed from the stock pump. Just remember, not everything you
read is always right on. Just take all the input and make your own
conclusions. Take care, Chris

Dry sump system pumps can have just scavenge stages or both scavenge
and pressure stages. The Power Manual describes a two-stage external
belt driven scavenge pump using the OEM pump for pressure deliverly to
the engine.

Cosworth eliminated the OEM pressure pump early in their development,
and most successful racing CV engines did not use the OEM pump.

It appears that 8000 revs is the OEM pump limit. Above that it has a
tendency to cavitate.
