I guess the first question would be whether it is the stock GM
converter or an new aftermarket "honeycomb" type. My experience with
the gm stock converter was that it was just a tad too loud for my
taste for everyday commuting. But if you were at add a "turbo"
muffler in place of the stock muffler, it was just right for me.
Louder than stock but below the uncomfortable threshold. I'll let
someone else comment on the aftermarket converters.

Has anyone tried their CV with a Catalyst only? How
loud is it? Do modern catalytic converters have sound
deadening characteristics? Just thinking out loud.
Ideas? Jim

I just put a new cat (Walker #15510) in 2037. As well as passing
emmissions it doubled the sound coming from the tail pipe. I think
Iit still has the original muffler.
