Window channel strip replacement

I am trying to replace the rubber channel strips on either of the
door window. According to the Fisher body manual, and the '74 Vega
manual, aparently you need to remove or loweer the bump stop for the
window regulator to fully access the channel strips. In order to do
this, you need to remove the door panel. That's where my question
comes in. I have removed the door handle bezel and the arm rest. Now
I need to get the window crank handle off. How do I get it off? Looks
like there is a C-clip behind the handle, but I can't get to it. And
if I do get it off with a skinny screwdriver, I'm afraid I won't be
able to get it back on. Is there a special tool for removing and re-
installing the C-clip? If so, where do I get one, and does anyone
know the part number for the tool? Also, is there a tool to pry off
the door panel clips. I started to pry one with a small screw driver,
and heard a small crack, so I stopped.... Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

There is a tool to remove the clip, but a small screwdriver works
too. The c-clip snaps over a groove the the window crank shaft and
splines in the handle & shaft allows for the rotation.

Just push on the c-clip (open ends of wire) and you will slowly work
the clip off the shaft. It will "pop" off and may end up on the
ground. Pull the crank handle off.

Just install the c-clip in the slot in the crank handle (it will snap
in place), and rocate the handle where you want it at assembly.
