Roger, I would like to thank you for the bushings
I recieved. I have finally finished installing
them. They worked out GREAT !!! I still have to get
Rotors,Calipers, and Brake hoses, but the 'modification' part is done.
I remember someone saying they had to grind some of
the 'Boss' for the upper Ball Joint. I had to do that
on the passenger side only, just to let others know
how it went. Also I remember someone saying to use
S-10 shocks. I didn't have to, my Vega shocks fit
fine. So try your original ones first before buying
S-10 ones.

Again thanks Roger,

AJ

Roger, keep a set handy. I just laid down $1,200 for a Super T-10 NIB, but I will be in touch within the next week or so for a set! Thanks...Robert

5 lug upgrade

I did the 5 lug conversion about a year ago and
everything is working well. The thing is I can't find the
paper were I wrote the year and model of the car I took
the spindles from. I think is a 78 malibu or 79 monte
carlo, but I am not sure. If I need to replace anything
on the brakes, how do I do this? Just remove the
brakes and match the part I need at the auto parts
counter or are this spindles all the same? Thanks in
advance. Marcelo.

Marcelo,
I believe you got the bushings from
me.
I think most of those years of spindles BOP and

Chevy were pretty much the same. At some point GM
changed the caliper design and the difference is very
easy to spot. Just go to one of your more trusted auto
parts people, and get their help.
I will be
installing an aftermarket adjustable
proportioner later
this spring when the motor in the 'Hawk gets pulled to
have it's goodies installed.
I found the 5 lug
conversion to be really a big plus. I can get on the binders
at 100+ MPH and it
stops on a dime and will give
you nine cents change! However, try a panic stop at
45 MPH and the rears will lock up without some fancy
pedal work. The proportioner will solve that.
Let
me know if I can be of any help on your
problem.

Roger
