If your chrome window trim,wouldnt look right black (too dark), then gold stripes are the way to go.

Gold stripes
are the way I'm going.
The next question is which
one of the three colors schemes available from
Stencil and Stripes Unlimited are the "Gold" stripes.
There are two listed:
- Black decal w/Gold Accent
(Hood has 3rd color Gold)
or
- Gold decal w/White
Accent (Hood has 3rd color Orange)

I'm going to
give them a call today.

Paul - I don't know about all years but in 1977
you could order a Spyder with Dark Blue Metallic
paint (code 29) and the stripe package that came with
that was the 'Black(2)'. This package is described in
three parts; Dual Side Stripe (Black Hi Gloss with Gold
Lettering Accent), Spoiler Lettering (Monza- Black Hi
Gloss, Spyder- Gold with Black Accent), Hood-Spyder
Design (Spyder Body- Black Low Gloss, Spyder Border-
Dark Gold, Accent Border- Gold, Web/Stripe- Black Hi
Gloss).
The color id #'s are; Black Hi Gloss- WMH 848(60-75
units), Black Low Gloss- WMH 848 (15-30 units), Gold Hi
Gloss - WMH 4948 (60-75 units), Gold Low Gloss- WMH
4948 (15-30 units), Dark Gold- WMH 7050).
In '77
Spyders came in 14 different colors and 4 different
stripe packages. The stripe package you got was mandated
by the exterior color you picked. It may have been
possible to get an 'override' (like RPO ZP2 that allowed
you to order any interior-exterior color combination)
but I've never seen or heard of one.

Hey Denis:

Are these the same color
stripes that came on a black Spyder. My concern is having
too many dark colors on the car. The interior will be
black, the body the original dark metalic blue and I
have the Rally II rims in gloss black. Predominatly
black stripes may make the car to overall too dark with
out any contrasting colors.

Paul - There were 4 stripe packages available in
'77. They were called Black(1), Black(2), Black(3),
and Gold. Black(1) had black, red, and gold in it.
Black(2) had black and gold in it. Black (3) had black,
white, and gold in it. Gold had gold, white, and burnt
orange in it. "Would it be too dark?". That's a
judgement call only you can make.

I think Denis is Right, black car usually had beige/tan interior so gold will match with it
Usually red car that had gold stiped had lots of black parts on the stripes
