Reason for 14" tire question

Found this info @ <a href=http://h-body.org target=new>http://h-body.org</a> about tire
sizes and they don't mention much about 14"
tires.

5.7 What is the widest wheel/tire I can fit in the
front?
Some things that have worked for people:


Street tires:

205/60-13 on stock rims

205/60-15 on 6" or 7" rims (3" or 3.5" backspace), fits

225/50-15 rubs at extremes (hard bounces, max steering)


5.8 What is the widest wheel/tire I can fit in the
rear?
Some things that have worked for people:


Street tires:

205/70-13 on stock rims

245/60-14 on factory Buick wheels using a 3/16" spacer
between the axle-hub and rear drum (intermittent slight
rubbing)
255/60-15 on 8" rims (3.5" backspace), fits
in the wheel wells
265/50-15 on 8.5" rims (3.5"
backspace), fits in the wheel wells
275/60-15 on 10" rims
(3.25" backspace), sticks out of wheel well, rubs
