"Fred Flintstones car!!!!" That`s funny
man.

I hear you loud and clear.

But the problem
is my 700lbs/in front springs works fine and no it`s
not like Fred Flintstones car the wheel travles 2"
and works fine.
Stiff yes very but not as bad as
you think.

You know what they use in racing on
in Europe? 1100lbs/in.

But for drag race I
agree with you more coils to launch the
front.

On the street I think the V8 Monza springs would be
perfect but I like my old 550lbs/in on the
street.

If your ever in Norway I be glad to give you a ride
so you can see for yourself.

Anyway lot`s of
good info there.

Keep up the good
work.

what is the trick to viewing these photos,it
won't work for me. by the way,i used heater hose as a
spring insulator on my lowered s10,it was so snug i used
baby oil on the spring so it would allow the hose to
go on. dave

You have to join the Yahoo Club. If you can view photos here in GM H Body, you can see them in V8 Vega Conversions.

I hope this information is helpful...Robert

Actually the s10 springs would (if they could
fit) rip the spring pocket off the side of the front
clip.
And i for one have found out most european racing
setups have springs rated a little different.
Now for
the whole truth, if people would put those springs in
you wouldnt move the front end.
And after talking
to an old IMSA Monza racer he said that they used
springs with a 475 load rate but with less loaded height
to bring down the center of gravity and there
headers came out side by side(primary pipes) and fed into
a flat collector that tapered into an oval 2.5 in
dual pipes and both tail pipes(when required) exited
on the right side in stock muffler mounting
area.

Wounder why my spring pocets are still
there...

We measured my old springs at a friend race shop and
the measure ments are US spec.
We also measured
his racings springs for the Monza and yes they
measure 1100lbs/in.

Yes we use differen measurees
the you.
But when we measure like you thats what
we end uo with.

Remember that my very stiff
springa are very much shorter then stoc.
They fin in
there without any extra tools neede to just a tap with
a hammer.

So load on springs when car is on
ground is almost the same as on stock but much higher pr
inch when moving.

This is a big area so I hav
not eanough space or knowlage to explain it all
here.

But my front is built with the help of racing people
and works fine.

So end of diskusjoin is use
what works for you.
We all have different opinions
on this and difgferent ways of looking at
it.

Btw my friends are building a IMSA copy with 13" rear
wheels and 11" up front will take my camera as soon as I
can.

Erik
