Engine oilpan cleareance

I have A 76 Monza spyder and just droped A 302
(chevy)in it.The car is A original 305 and I did use oilpan
off it.But clearence between the oilpan and the
crossmember is about A 16th.Can anybody tell me what is the
right distance?

Check to make sure your motor mounts are not shot,they have a tendency to sag over time.Just a thought biddaboy

A 76 Spyder is rare to begin with, but a 76 Spyder with the "California-only" 305 in it is especially rare. Plan on keeping that 305 intact for a rainy day? Got any pics?
