Tire sizes revisited!

Ok, I almost hate to bring this up again,
but...I've got 14x7 Centerline(4lug) on the back of a stock
suspended 2+2..What is the maximum tire size that someone
has put under their cars ? I looked at the FAQ, and
really didnt help at all...Looking for the "muscle car"
look and the 205/60's all around just dont cut it..
Any pointers/successes would be appreciated !!!

Tire sizes revisited!

14 X 7" with 3.5" backspacing will accept a
235/60/14 on the rear of my stock 1972 Vega Hatchback
without rubbing.

A 245/60/14 would also work but
might require some rolling and/or cutting of the fender
lips.

I hope this information is helpful...Robert

235/60/14 will fit with no mods
245/60/14 might need some fender trimming/rolling
and some cars
be sure to center the axle under the car to get proper clearance on each side

Tire sizes revisited!

I have a set of 26x9.50x14 Hossier Quick Time
Pros under my '79 Monza Hatchback and it has stock
rear suspension. I only had to do a little massaging
to the inner fender on the drivers side. It wouldn't
have rubbed at normal speed but with the growth of the
tire at 130 mph I didn't want to take any chances. I
also rolled the lip for a little more added clearance.
Good luck with your ride !!

They were on the car when I got it. I did speak
to Centerline once before, asking about them, and
was told that they can still be special ordered thru
Summit..I've got the AutoDrag Street's on mine. They would
cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $150.00 a piece
!
