COOL! Unlimited topics......... I have found that
laser-cooled atoms can be trapped in periodic potentials
created from the interference of multiple laser beams.
These "optical lattices" are defect-free analogs to
solid state systems, but with spacings between sites
thousands of times larger. They may have an application as
the storage media for qubits (quantum bits), the
basic unit of information in a quantum computer, an
envisioned device based on the unique properties of quantum
mechanics.
I hope you all agree...................

That assumes you believe in quantum physics, which is, of course, a fairly "out there" idea to classical physicists.

Can you repeat that in English please.

p.s. what does quantum mechanics have to H-bodies.

It's the ability of your H-body to be in two places at the same time (or infinite places, but we won't go there). If you can make that happen, you'd have the fastest 1/4 mile possible.

LOL

Battleships?

Hmmmm...How shall I put this? My life does not
revolve around my Vega. I enjoy and have interest in
many, many things. One of them is Wreck Diving.

I don't try to control the topics people write in
this club. I'm not the founder. If I see something I'm
not interested in, I just skip over it. Why does a
post, directed to a specific club member, create such a
stir with you?

Interesting post you have
there...As I recall, an optical lattice is a
three-dimensional set of atoms ordered by several laser beams.

These laser beams damp the atomic velocity so the
typical atomic temperature is in the micro-Kelvin range.
Hence the term 'Laser-Cooled Atoms.'

This is a
dilute medium where the atomic density exhibits the same
spatial modulation as the light interference
pattern.

Many properties of optical lattices are similar
to those found in periodic and quasi-periodic solid
crystals but with totally different scales. Probe
transmission in the lattices exhibits Raman,Brillouin and
Rayleigh resonances which allow one to study localized
excitations and propagative and diffusive modes.

Is
this what you are referring to when you make reference
to an optical lattice as "defect-free analogs to
solid state systems?" I don't think I fully grasped the
comparison.

Fascinating with regard to their
potential as a storage media. That is the first I have
heard of this. How far off do you think the application
of this technology is???..Robert

Now you're an expert in physics too ay? I doubt
it..............
All this time you spend on the club, talking
about battleships and other things that don't apply to
H-Body's, is also keeping you from completeing your
obligations.
If you would like to talk about battleships,
don't you think you should get the other persons e-mail
address and e-mail them personallly so the rest of us can
enjoy our H-Body posts on the "H-Body" site? Doesn't
that make sense?
It is inconsiderate of you to
just post what you want and to have the rest of us
subject to reading it.
You had recieved the parts for
Vega_wagon's carb and haven't finished rebuilding it yet. As a
matter of fact, you had told him that you would have the
carb done in a few hours and you've had them three
months!
I say get responsible and do what you say
you will do!
This is the thanx I get for wanting
to help by giving you the carb parts.
For me, I
guess it's live and learn again,..........

Eddie,
Are you in any way related to a Pit
Bull. You latch on and won't let go. I appreciate your
opinion, but face it man, it's your opinion. Chil a bit,
this ain't the rest of your life, K?

Have to disagree here.
A lot of people get
'off topic' on here but I don't see the big deal.. If
you don't like the topic, then hit the "NEXT" button
and move right along, rather than trashing
others.
I actually enjoyed the Battleship talk althought
the quantum mechanics lost me (as it did for everyone
else here too, lol) so let's chill. H-Bodies aren't
the be-all and end-all (damn close though, but not
quite)
;)

What makes this a great club is that we can B.S.
about anything. There a bunch of dead people at the
other clubs, no posts, no excitement. You need a little
stir every once in a while to keep your blood pumping.
Unless you want to go to a porno site and have your hand
pumping.
