The hub section of the 75 axle was stepped up to a larger diameter cause those shitty little drums had a larger hole for the hub, can't slide 76 & up drums on the whole way.

Clyde,
It depends on the diameter of the
flange. Mosier Engineering, the folks that did my axles
wanted 5.5" diameter flanges for safety reasons. You
could go with a smaller bolt pattern but wouldn't be
able to use Chevy wheels. If I knew then what I know
now would have gone with the S-10 swap and a 7.5
rear. Good luck.

Sorry to say but thats not the reason its suicide
motorsports. My friends gave me that name because I got a 350
hp big shot nitrous plate on my 383 smallblock and
it used to get pretty nasty for the first 200 feet
of the track because of the stock rear suspension
and the M&H Racemasters I used to run, but I got most
of that cleared up with a new set of 26x9.50x14
Hoosier Quick Time Pros, and a set of solid bushings in
the rear control arms. I'm not saying everyone should
use wheel spacers, thats just what I use for now.
