Looking into the trunk of my '80 Monza now, I'm
taken back in time to memories of my '78 which was my
first car...and all I can think of is; How in the world
did I fit everything the US Navy told me I needed for
life into it?

That's because the Navy probably only told you
that you needed a couple uniforms, 1 set of dress
whites, your wallet (Navy I.D.), Monza keys and condoms,
for all your Ports-of-call.

swab the deck with)

That was it...I didn't have to pack swabs, Brasso, paint brushes, or brooms! The ship provided all of that, plus coffee to keep me going all day and night long.

I'll tell ya. If you remember
correctly that Chief or the Senior Petty Officer that
provided guidance for ya in Bootcamp taugh you how to
store all your issued uniforms and such in a 24" X 24"
locker with a personal drawer and a drawer for your
socks, clothes stops, and Ditty bag. That's where you
efficently learned to pack anything. I used to pack
everything in the back of a 69 Stingray.

Forgot to mention this too...I hopped into the
back seat while cleaning it Saturday. Used to be able
to get my chief to squeeze in too...he was a great
guy, but a little too tall and portly.
The Master
Chief got the front seat!
