I was wondering what the Hp/lbs ratio is of some of the common super cars out there...

Porsche 911 turbo

Dodge Viper

Ferarri F40

Anyone got any spec's handy?

Ok I just found this...

The Z06 has a
power to weight ratio of just 8.13 pounds per
horsepower which is better then the 1999 Porsche GT3 (8.26),
the 2000 Porsche Turbo (8.19), the 2000 Ferrari
Modena (8.21) and even the '95 Corvette ZR1 (8.73)

Marco, I have always noticed that cars with
similar lbs/hp usually ran similar times. This kind of
makes sense since the engines don't know what type of
car they're in. I always felt that 10 lbs/hp was a
pretty good goal for a street car. So, if our 3000lb
Monza's have about 300 hp, that would be pretty quick.
This should give you about a 13.5 - 14 second car. Of
course if you have even fewer lbs/hp that's even better!

Definitely 13.5, cause I have nowhere near 300hp
and my Monza 74 350 over 200,000 miles, replaced cam
it wiped out with 266 dur. 440 lift Crane, Edelbrock
Performer intake, 650 double pumper, and Hooker 2135s. Have
1 1/2pds fuel pressure from stock electric pump,
stock TH350 slips and 2.56 posi. I run 14.30s at Quaker
and 14.10 at Thompson.

Is that 9.6 lbs/hp of altitude corrected, crankshaft hp or rear wheel, real world hp?

Clyde, I agree.
3000/300 is great.
Maybe
aluminum heads and some weight savings up front could net
2800lbs/325hp (w305ci).

thats 8.61...right in the
supercar ballpark!
And heck slap an expensive paintjob
on and you'll be looking good too for thousands
less! H bodys rule!
