question about pics

I noticed that when I posted pictures of my vega, the file size was huge. How can I change this so that I don't hog the space for others to post pictures here?

When you are scanning yur pics turn the pixels down, you have it set a little high...normally I scan at about 75-100 dpi.

you can also resize them a bit smaller
usually a pic size is about 20 KB

forgot to tell you this..
when you scan your pic
be sure to scan just the area where the pic is
not the whole scanner bed

If you scanner software can save giles as
JPEGs,
then it usually asks you what quality to use.
I
would save one high quality for personal use,
then
save a lower quality to upload here.
Play with the
different quality levels to see
how big the files get. I
find that for most
pictures you can go to a quality
of about
40% before you really notice any
blemishes
on the picture. This reduces the file size a LOT.
