New parts coming and a couple of questions

Ok, here we go.

I am updating my Monza race car project page. It should be up sometime
tonight. I was finally able to get my block and pistons from the machine
shop. Money was tight, though I am sure that none of us with race cars
ever had to worry about money. LOL!!! Yeah, right. Anyway, the block
looks really good and the pistons are SWEEEEEETTTT!!!!!! I ordered my
rebuild kit this evening from P.A.W and it should be here in a few days.
I am hoping to have the car race ready by May 31st, the first night of
Friday Night Drags in Pueblo, Colorado. Looking for some 12's, but may
be a little conservative on the new motor at first. I am just hoping to
keep the nose on the ground. I am only going to run a 2.93 posi rear end
so I have less stress on the body. Great for good trap speeds, though.

Now the questions.

I will be running a mild street strip cam in this motor. I saw something
on Crank & Chrome this morning about the torque convertor needing to be
matched with the cam. This is new info to me and I do not know what my
cam measurements are, but I will be getting that tomorrow. Can someone
tell me if I should be really concerned or not? I am planning on having
a custom built torque convertor done to have around a 3800 stall. Also,
do need to have the cam degreed in? Thanks in advance.
