larger tires

im looking to get a bigger tire under my vega. dont want to do a full tub its my street car. id like to get like a 28 by 11 in tire under it. any suggestions?

Don't think that size tire will fit without at least a little wheel well massaging. I remember reading a while back about someone's "mini-tub" where they cut out the entire wheel well area (including all the shock, spring, and control arm mounts), cut out a slice out of the center, and welded the whole thing back in. They had the 3-link rear, but it could also work with the 4-link rear depending on how much shortening you need.

i dont mind doing some cutting or some kind of mini tub. i have a 76 vega hatch. does anyone make a direct fit mini tub kit or have done this and tell me what i kneed to do?
