Headlights in fiberglass?

Postby notbadfor50 » Sat Nov 22, 2008 12:31 pm

I have a 72 Vega that I am looking at putting a glass front end on. What is beingg done to mount headlights? The car is a AZ car but the has a bad radistor support because of the battery box is rusty. So what do I do?

You mean don't get a fiberglass front end? I'm pretty sure the front unibody structure stays in when you get a fiberglass front end. You bolt it to that. How bad is the battery tray? Mine was rotten too. I just cut it out and fabricated a new one in it's place.

If youve got a one piece front end...Get on ebay and look up.....h6024 conversion headlights for a 9003 bulb.

That will get you the plastic lense assembly so you can use a 9003 headlight and theyre lighter than a glass bulb.

You can just glass in some tabs that will accept a body screw and still use the h6024 headlamp retaining ring.
Thats assuming that youre using the large single headlight....they also make conversion for the smaller dual round headlights. I dont know those numbers of hand though.
I'll be doing the same thing on my 57.

You can pickup the knock off assemblies for around $20....thats less than a pair of headlights.

Do the vegas use the 6024's?

ONe piece front ends are awesome...the only bad thing is finding a place to put them when you take them off...lol

God bless
