Go to 454s web site

It rocks !!!!!!!! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2035660

I like How he did it.. Dont like the cross member. I want to up and over. Tie the floor into it. Or Tie the frame rail into the lower control mounts.

I'm not saying speedphreake dont have it going on..Dont stop Taken the pics!!!! But both are tubbing the same way..

Both used the the insides of the stock mounting points on the body .. 454 just added a cross member.

Speedpheake....Good luck and keep those photos coming!
A mini-tub with a 10 or 10.5 inch tire on a Vega, where you can possibly keep the back seat is good stuff.

You guys make me go through more popcorn

The project is on hold for now, just moved my roomates elderly aunt in and her junk filled the garage. I am using the inside mounts for the stock suspension, the outer mounts will be modified. I'm using a 26x10" tire for mock up only for the reason it's what I have. I will modify the wheelwell opening later to fit a 28" tall tire. It looks like I will just have to modify how the upper seat mounts. I may not be able to keep the fold down feature.

I don't know if you finished your project, but I saw this tubbed Vega for sale with the rear seat. The seat obviously has been narrowed, but looks cool.

The mini tub is more or less done. Waiting on funds for a new gas tank and new wheels to push the tires into the mini tub. I left off with the wheel well cut out and the tire set in to check fitment. I welded in the inner wheel well, the upper spring mount was still attached, then filled the gap with sheetmetal. once the drivers side was done, I cut out the spare tire well and used a 69 camaro trunk pan I had laying around to make the new trunk floor. I then did the passenger side mini tub. I cut the stock gas tank front mounts out and and rewelded them to fit the 68 camaro tank I have for mock up. The rear mounts were easy, the passenger side just needed a slot add to move the bolt over and inch or so, the drivers side I made a new mount out of left over box tubing and cut a hole and slot for the stock bolt. You can see in the pics the filler neck lines up good, although I will be using a 69 tank with the filler neck, the 68 shown has no neck. The tank fits real nice and with stock wheel wells, leave enough room for tail pipes to run out the back, with the mini tub, I am going to have to notch the corners of the tank to get the exhaust by. I left the rearend all stock except for moving the spring mounts in 2" per side. The body side of the suspension mounts used the stock inner mounts, I moved the outter mounts i moved in. I'm running control arms with heim joints that are a lot narrower than stock control arms. All teh stock interior panels actually fit pretty well, no one will really notice unless you look for it. The stock back seat fit with out narrowing it. Unfortunately, it will no longer fold down. I had to bolt the upper seat in through the wheel wells. It came out really well and I think only a purist would even notice it wasn't stock. Lastly, I mounted the battery in the corner of the trunk and had to trim the interior panel to fit around the box and the spare tire well cover to fit around the box and mini tub. I layed some speaker box carpet down for now to give a finished look.

I know I wasn't very descriptive, but I figured the pics could say it better than I could. Feel free to ask for more info or pics, I'm sure I left something out.
