Chris Alston Subframe Connectors

Postby MachoPoncho » Sat May 15, 2010 11:44 pm

I just bought some chris alston subframe connectors and im wondering if anyone had any pictures of theirs being installed or after installation because on the installation instructions it states to weld it as much as possible and i was wondering if i needed to go weld crazy  like on the floor panels to every surface possible or just to the ends and a bit in the middle.

Macho, If Stage 169 doesn't mind, look up his car in the garage or members section. It shows several pics of how it is done, or at least it used to.

Hope this helps.

cheers jer

hey machoponcho im pretty sure you have to cut out a section of the floor and then install and weld. i have seen these in a few of the menbers cars, but i dont remember whose cars they were in art

Yes, weld every point they contact the floor.
Any one can restore a car but, it takes a real man to cut one up.

I agree with Ishiftem: weld every point they contact the cutout in the floor.

Here's my post on them:

Drill out the spot welds holding the outer seat backing braces, these will need to be cut and re-installed. You can simply line them back up to the drilled out holes and weld them back by filling the holes in.
