Vega Build, Engine Setback?

Postby kend » Mon May 20, 2013 11:15 pm

It's a drag car that'll have a 383 and Glide so before I nail it down should I set it back? If so, how far? I just bought the car and never driven it but I'm concerned about handling issues, it would be a lot easier to leave the engine where it is. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing but I would like some input. Thanks

It is not really needed and creates other problems.
If you move the motor back you have to cut the trans tunnel and firewall for clearance then patch it back up,
headers and motor mounts will not fit properly.
A lot of Vega's whith the motor in the normal position lift the front tires off the ground when running slicks.
Move the battery to the rear/trunk, use aluminum up front: Radiator, water pump, heads,
intake, master cylinder if you are changing it anyway,wheels- Weld Racing or Centerline
