been gutting doors for my vega wagon. The stock steel doors weigh 78.5lbs complete with glass, window regulators, door handles and lock and the sport mirror. After trimming out the crashbar that runs from front to back in them, removal of the glass window and the regulator assembly, trimming the steel to just close to the door panel perimeter. Also using a lexan side window pushed into the stock upper window channel, the doors now weigh 44.8 lbs each. So, gutting them out was a loss of 33.7lbs each door for a total loss of both doors at 67.4lbs. :D

That's quite a pile of weight to drop, and the best part is that it was more or less free. 'Glass doors are a bunch lighter than that again(mine are 8 or 10 lb each with lexan), but at $800pr, it's not easy to justify the expense.
