I have a 75 2 + 2 V8. I have questions on the trans ( saganaw 4 speed )
and the rear end ( 8 1/2" cover, no posi, 2.56 ratio ). How strong are they,
and can they hold up. My plan is to replace the 305 2bbl. with a 355 TPI
motor. I know I'll need to try the frame together ( is there a kit ? ). I am
in the process of rebuilding the front end ( all poly ) and going to a 5 lug
wheel. Any info you can give me will help. Thanks Ron W.

Just this past week I bought a 2003 Ecotec engine for it.

The trans will be fine as long as you don't plan to hit it with
500HP.The rearend is another story as it's a 7.5".You can put S-10
gears in your housing you'll need the Timken bearing and race to do
this. And up grade to 28 spline axle if you wish 89 and up carrier. It
should hold 400 + HP from what other members have said.Check the
early posts on this site for more info on bearing and race
numbers..As for 5 lug front and HD engine mounts check V8monza.com
for there kit.Let me know if you need anything else.

Thank's Randy
