74 Vega GT HB Springs for V-8 Conversion

Hello,
I am rounding up parts for the 5 lug conversion on a 74 Vega GT
Hatchback.I am going to use Bob Gumm's adapters and were wondering
what should I do to compensate for the additional weight of a 350 V-8.
Do I need to swap front and rear springs or only the front? Where
should I get the springs from. Can I use s-10 springs and cut them a
bit...
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
George in Chesapeake, Virginia

Heck my buddy had a 71 Vega with a 350 that he drove then put on
track as a Pro class car and it had stock springs but you might see
about changing to monza control arm and v6 or v8 springs,as some
monzas had deep spring pockets and most vegas have shallow pockets.
You cant run springs for deep pocket arms on shallow pocket arms.
Good luck and dont forget you need monza ball joints to use the
adapters.

---if you are looking for springs for a V8, I have a set from a V8
Sunbird that I am willing to sell. I will take $100 for the springs
and lower A-arms, plus shipping from Oklahoma. If you want the rear
springs, I will take$40 for them. I also have other parts for sell
too.Email me for the list or wait til I post. A friend of mine has
a '73 vega with stock springs and it sucks to drive. It bottoms out
everywhere he goes. It has super comp headers on it with 14" wheels.
He hardly drives it because he can't go anywhere without bottoming
out. The headers have about 3" clearance but you can feel the front
end bottoming out. The springs are coming from a car that sits up
very well, has about 85,000 miles. Just let me know.
