Im in the process of rebuilding the front end on
my 77 V8 Spyder... but thought of one small
question.
At the least, I plan to change the seal on
the bottom of the steering (power) box, but am
wondering if there are dif ratio power boxes out there? Now
is the time to change it if I can change to somthing
better, but didnt know if there were any
options.

This club rulez!

Your present ratio is 16.5:1 on center to 13.5:1.
Summit Racing Equipment offers a power steering box by
AGR that they say will fit all 77-79 GM cars. It has
a 12:1 ratio and sells for $299.95. Let me know how
you make out. I run a '77 Spyder too!

Are there any different ratio boxes for a manual box?

Sorry but I do not know the answer to that
question. I do know that the ratio for manual steering is
20.9:1 so one answer would be to convert to power
steering. It would have the added benefit of being more
easily removed when dealing with headers etc.
