John, I can help with you "part" of your
question. The part I "can't" help you with is whether or
not a Monza torque arm from a 7.5" rear will actually
"bolt" to a Vega 6.5" rear. (never done it before)
BUT.... assuming it will, you will need to "hang" the
axle in order to get enough upper clearance to install
the two long bolts that go in from the top. You can
do this by placing a couple sturdy jacks underneath
the so-called frame mounts just in front of the rear
wheels - just inside and underneath the rocker panel.
You'll notice it by the oval-like hole and the raise
area that looks sturdier. (hard to explain - but
you'll find it ok) Anyway, once you have the car
supported correctly (with the axle hanging on it's own),
put the back of the torque arm on "first" (axle
side), and that will still allow you enough flex up or
down to install the front mount by the tranny. Hope
this helps.

(Note: Make sure you
have the driveshaft on "before" the torque arm too,
because trying to access to the u-joints "after" the
torque arm is installed can make a guy lose his
knuckles! ...and his sanity! *smile* Good luck.)

i agree whit Ken,
you have to let the rear
end hang
thta way you won`t have to pry it down to
line up the torque arm whit the front mount
BTW

remove the front mount from the trans and install it to
the torque arm (bolt it too)
then instal the toque
arm to the rear end
(2 big bolts)
now bolt the
front mount to the trans
(3 bolts)
in this order
you shouldn`t have too much problems
putting all
this stuff back together
