I have finally completed the S-10 brake
conversion on my 76 Vega. Everything went very well, thanks
to Roger's bushings.
Now that I've done the
brakes I would like to do something about my master
cylinder. Is there an alternative to the Vega master
cylinder, other than going to power
brakes?

Thanks,
John

Order a Monza booster(yes you can still get them from most autoparts stores) and put a 79 Malibu master cyl. on it. Thats what I did. Works great.

I have seen discussion of using a booster/master cylinder from a 80 Honda Accord. Might be worth looking at.

It might be a good idea
to use a booster from
a chevette
or acadian clone
It`s very small
in diameter

I saw a couple of cars whit
those on them
brake feel is ok and your master
cylinder will
bolt on the small booster

HOY HOY all
I just tried to install a s-10
master cyl on my 75 town coupe. It wouldn't work, the
hole in the master cyl was too small. I just was
talking to some people last night that said a 76 and up
booster will work. I just came from the parts store and
they said that 75 and up boosters were the same part
#... I just ordered a master for a patch fix($20) my
old one was leaking very badly. I would like to get
all the info I can before I perform the s-10
conversion. Any input would help me alot!!
-Nick
p/s I
have printed out copies of the hboa faq and the step
by step guide from bob gumms site also.

Wich was
too small?
The large mouting hole in the

or the hole where the stell line screw
in?

sorry, I was up late. the hole in the booster was
too small for the s-10 master. I haven't measured but
it looks like about 3/8" difference. like I said the
parts store only showed 1 booster for 75 and
up..
?????
