Make sure that the shop performing the acid
dipping also replates/protects the bare metal. The
factory had a galvanized coating put on the bodies when
they were manufactured to protect against corrosion.
This coating will be removed by the acid dipping
process. The metal has to be recoated with some type of
chemical treatment to ensure no rust starts to grow in
those out of reach areas in the body, otherwise you
will have a rust bucket in a couple of
years.

Good luck,
Larry

I've considered that on a couple of my
projects
and checked with a local shop that could do
that
but they told me all they could do after
the dip
would be to neutrilize the acid and
coat it with a
coating that would only stop
it from flash rusting
which would not be a long
term corrosion protectant.
If thats the case
then NO would definately be the
answer. I've
heard that other places offer a sealing
dip as well, that would work.
