Tech Tip
If you are like me and still using
the original Saginaw shifter on your 4-speed, then
you probably have had trouble with the 'plastic'
thread that is supposed to keep the shift knob on.

I tried almost everywhere to get a replacement knob
and finally came to the conclusion that I would have
to repair the original. After trying many things I
finally came up with something that seems to work
(keeping my fingers crossed!). I wrapped a length of thin
copper wire around the shift lever thread and then
screwed on the knob. So far it's working.
Good luck
with yours. If you know a better solution I would
appreciate you posting it here.
Denis
