steering shaft

The shaft that is in the engine compartment is
not really rebuildable. I did remove mine to have it
chromed and it is basically two shafts that slip fit
together and are pinned to each other with plastic pins
which will allow the shaft to collapse in the event of
a accident. You can replace the "rag joint", the
rubber coupling between the engine compartment shaft and
the passenger compartment steering column. The shaft
is fairly easy to remove once you unbolt the rag
coint coupling. What exactly is wrong with the one you
have? Clyde

I had the same problem, the boot is part of the
shaft, not sold separtely. If you find something that
works let us know! I wonder if something like a tie rod
boot might work, kind of like a dust shield? Clyde
