Hello all- I was just starting to replace my 75 town
coupes rear end w/ a 5 lug along with boxed in lower
control arms. I was removing the bolts that come into the
wheel well when I found cancer covered by bondo. Not
just a thin layer but ALOT! it looks like the wheel
well itself is the only part that is rusted badly. the
rust extends into the mounts for the lower control
arm. thru the rust hole I can see part of the unibody
that extends in the same plane as the part the
lowercontrol arm bolts into in the rear wheel well. Has anyone
repaired this stuff? It looks like there is a couple of
3/16" plated welded in horzantally on the floor/rear
frame. I was thinking of putting a plate ofer the rust
and extending twoard the front of the vehicle for
appx 12-16". Any
thoughts?

I had the same problem on my brother`s car,

what i did was to cut the affected sheetmetal
and
reweld new one in
We will need to measure if the
rear end is
straight in the car
I`m working on
a set of frame connectors that
will eliminate
the torque box in the rear of
the car,
It`s my
opinion that if the arms can be bolted
to a rail
that will go the lenght of the car
it will be
better
